1.) T2 Lab Booklet

Over the past three decades, driven by private interests of real estate and a demand driven by the international corporate lobby looking to establish itself in India, Gurugram has seen vast swathes of open agricultural lands that permitted water percolation to the ground water table, being converted to hard paved surfaces as either asphalt road or constructed building of residential or commercial nature and so rendered impervious to water. This has meant that groundwater recharge which was a natural phenomenon in the region is now greatly depleted.

2.) Posters Citizen Science

Citizen science is the involvement of ordinary citizens into scientific practices. Scientific experts and ordinary citizens co-produce knowledge and co-design responsible solutions. Gurgaon Water Forum (GWF) has been conducting citizen science exercises for the generation of knowledge related to urban water systems. The members of GWF have been conducting transect walks with the local residents and experts for understanding the causes of urban flooding, problem of drainage and the extent of erosion of catchments of Gurgaon. Water quality testing has been conducted at a large number of locations in Gurgaon to understand the challenges of access to safe water for the people as a whole.
