Overview :
This workshop aims to bring participants together to discuss and share lessons from a variety of grassroots innovation movements in the context of discussions taking place among the academics on the theme of how to promote inclusive and sustainable development. Developments occurring in the policymaking circles indicate at both national and international level a major spurt in the attention to the role of grassroots innovation activities.
Overview :
Both internationally and nationally, renewed concern for inclusion in development has recently returned high-level attention to grassroots innovation. Countries in South Asia have a long tradition of grassroots innovation, including not just innovators, but also networks, organizations and movements dedicated to supporting grassroots ingenuity and ensuring it plays its role in development.
